Limits
The values of f(x) approach or equal the value of the limit as the values of x approach (but are not necessarily equal to)
Read as "the limit of f(x) as x approaches c is L" The existence of a limit as x approaches c never depends on whether f(x) is defined at c. A function f(x) has a limit if and only if the left and right hand limits are equal. Right hand limits: limit as x approaches c from the right. Left hand limits: limit as x approaches c from the left. |
